Our keyboard department expert, Mr. Brett Guillory, has been with Hall Piano Company since 2002. Before joining the Hall Piano family, Mr. Guillory was already an expert with Kurzweil keyboards, having played with many local bands in the Houma/Thibodaux area. His technical knowledge of all Kurzweil products has continued to grow over the years and he is unmatched as a Kurzweil resource in the New Orleans area.

K-series Synthesizers

The K2600 series is a “studio in a box”, containing Kurzweil's award-winning Variable Architecture Synthesis Technology (V.A.S.T.) state-of-the-art synthesis system, giving an artist powerful expression not available with any other brand. Also included is the venerable KDFX powerful 5 stereo bus, 24-bit digital effects engine utilizing Kurzweil's proprietary VLSI chips and DSP algorithms for mind-blowing studio-quality effects. Combined together, these two systems deliver the promise that Kurzweil's motto makes: It's all about the sound! Hear it for yourself and there's no doubt you will agree.

To sweeten the deal even more, these instruments also include a fully-featured 16 track sequencer (expandable to 32 total tracks), Quick Access mode (a must-have for live performance!) and are available in 61-note “synth” action (K2661 ), 76-note semi-weighted “organ style” action (K2600 and K2600S, and 88-note fully weighted “piano style” action (K2600X and K2600XS). The optional sampling module allows you to take advantage of the full studio-recording power of this keyboard, with abilities such as standard one-shot sampling, to creating recorded audio “RAM tracks” in conjunction with recorded MIDI sequences, and the impressive “Live Mode” to process ANY audio signal through V.A.S.T. and KDFX... in real-time, turning your K2600 into a world-class effects processor.


PC-series Performance Controllers

The PC series borrows some of the best features from the K2600 series, packaged into a lightweight, more affordable performance-oriented package. Included is the incredible Triple-Strike Stereo Dynamic piano, Kurzweil's premier piano sample set. A collection of 400 stunning sounds, including 128 Orchestral ROM programs, make the PC2 the player's dream keyboard. Also included are 16 KB3 (Kurzweil B3) Mode presets for realistic drawbar organ sound and real-time control (PC2 models only).

The PC2 includes dual effects processors which feature preset effects of the same quality as found in our highly regarded KDFX for the K2500/K2600 series instruments. A multiple bus architecture allows separate send levels per MIDI channel for an effect level, and a reverb level. Effects include reverb, chorus, delays, distortion, rotary, phaser, flanging, dynamics processing, and much more.

Using the Quick Layer/Split buttons, the PC instruments have the ability to easily layer or split the keyboard into 4 separate Zones. Each zone has its own MIDI channel, range across the keyboard, and many other controllable aspects for complete control of where your sounds appear on the keyboard. The PC series is also 16-part multitimbral, able to receive MIDI on all 16 channels at once, making it a great sound module for quickly expanding your existing palette of sounds.

SP2X Professional Stage Piano

The SP2X contains the choice cuts of Kurzweil's famous sound collection, including the Triple-Strike Stereo Dynamic piano. 64 Programs including pianos, EPs, organs, strings, brass, and more. KDFX effects processing puts the finishing touches to make these sounds stand above the competition. Also included are 64 professionally-produced pre-recorded drum patters, perfect for practicing as well as song-writing inspiration. 4 controller knobs allow you to tweak sounds, customize effects, and adjust drum patter tempo to taste. A USB interface allows the SP2X to connect to a computer for complete MIDI performance and OS updates.

Available in 88-note, fully-weighted hammer-action, with velocity sensitive adjustable keys.
