It is hard to imagine that half of 2008 has already elapsed and that we are just a few weeks away from the 20th Annual New Orleans International Piano Competition, yet here we are. 

I am filled with pride looking back over the past few months here at Hall Piano Company in that we have continued to challenge the notion that Hall Piano Company is "just another retailer" in our city.  We have continued to provide and support educational, cultural, and entertainment opportunities unparalleled by most "ordinary retailers." 

In March and April, we brought the Steinway Factory Construction Tour to over 20 organizations in the Metro area including Tulane University, South Eastern University, Nicholls State University, Ursuline Academy, Arden Cahill Academy, and Calvary Baptist School, just to name a few.  Well over 1000 parents, students, teachers, and music enthusiasts participated in these presentations. 

April was filled with the sights and sounds of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, this year, an Official All-Steinway Event.  Steinway grand pianos graced each stage and were very well received by the many grateful performing artists as well as concert goers.  The weather was the only real low point, especially when stage hands had to "squeegee water from the top of the grand" during Billy Joel's performance.  
               
May was filled with the sounds of music as Hall Piano Company hosted the student recitals of 23 local piano teachers.  This was one of our busiest recital seasons to date as over 2000 teachers, parents, grand-parents, students and friends participated in these concerts.
               
We also have the privilege of welcoming many new friends to the Hall Piano Company family including Nicholls State University, Ursuline Academy, Nunez Community College, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Rio Vista Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church, the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, and St. Angela Merici Church, just to name a few!  Their decision to do business with Hall Piano Company speaks to their confidence in the quality of products offered, service before and after delivery,  and the overall experience they had here at Hall Piano Company.
               
The Steinway Society of New Orleans has been very busy this year as well assisting local organizations in the acquisition of Steinway-Designed pianos for schools, houses of worship, and other arts organizations.  You can read about the many recent partnerships by viewing our "Hall's Happenings" page.
