Hall Piano Company would like to congratulate The Greater New Orleans Suzuki Forum on the success of their recent Fiddle-A-Thon held on March 21st at Lakeside Mall in Metairie. The day was filled with wonderful music from members of the GNO Suzuki Forum demonstrating their skill and enjoyment at instruments such as piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, guitar, and more.

Several piano students from the piano studio of Emily Fransen participated in the Metairie Music Club’s division of the LFMC Festival on Saturday, February 14th at Delgado Community College. We would like to recognize the following students for their hard work and performance in this competition: Raney Antoine, Payton Ball, Isabel Celata, Sydney Delpidio, Natalie Fonte, Rimi Mandal, Patrick Murray, Anthony Phan, Kaitlyn Tholen, Alex Thomas, Bryant White Jr., Brandon Williams, and Sabrina Yang. Special recognition goes to Rimi Mandal, who was one of twenty-two piano students selected to play in the Honors Recital at the Tulane Dixon Hall Annex on Saturday, February 21st.

Hall Piano Company extends congratulations to our friends at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. After a very successful fundraising campaign driven by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Dr. David Boudreaux, staff from NSU traveled to the Steinway Factory in Long Island, NY to select a Steinway Model D concert grand piano. This piano will now become the centerpiece of the Division of Music at Nicholls State University being featured in concert performances, recitals, master classes, and rehearsals.

Hall Piano Company and the Steinway Society of New Orleans are pleased to announce a new member of the Steinway & Sons and Hall Piano Company Family. Congratulations are in order for members of Lakeview Christian Center Church, Pastor Keith Collins and Minister of Music Matt Mason after taking delivery of a new Steinway & Sons Model "D" Concert Grand piano for use as the lead instrument of worship for their congregation. The Steinway Society of New Orleans was proud to participate in the acquisition process and contributed over $9,000 towards the purchase price of the piano

has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Musical Arts
Society of New Orleans. Originally founded in 1980 as the New Orleans Institute for the Performing Arts by Melvin G. Alford and Julianne Nice, the initial aim of the organization was to provide students and teachers in the performing arts with master classes and workshops, as well as expose them to performances by artists in the mainstream of professional activity.

Hall Piano Company is pleased to announce a new member of the Steinway & Sons and Hall Piano Company Family. Congratulations are certainly in order for Mr. Tu, his daughter Jennifer and the rest of the family after taking delivery of a Steinway Model M grand piano from Steinway's Heirloom Collection that was originally completed in 1955. Mr. Tu's Model L was meticulously restored to its original beauty by the Steinway Factory Restoration Center, with all of the new innovations included in a new piano of course.

During the New Orleans International Piano Competition, the New Orleans Piano Institute hosted the Steinway Society of New Orleans Piano Concerto Auditions. A young pianist from the Philadelphia area named Rebecca Kenney won the contest and was awarded an opportunity to play with the New Orleans Civic Symphony. The concert featuring Ms. Kenney was performed on Monday, October 20th at St. Clement of Rome Church in Metairie, Louisiana. Ms. Kenney demonstrated her talent, performing Johannes Brahms Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73. on a Steinway Model D 9' Concert Grand Piano provided courtesy of The Steinway Society of New Orleans and Hall Piano Company, Louisiana's exclusive Steinway Dealer.

The Musical Arts Society of New Orleans International Piano Competition recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary hosted at Loyola University in New Orleans. The competition awarded some of the world's finest piano talent cash prizes and performance fees totaling over $40,000 including: paid performances with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, and the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, as well as a recital at London's Wigmore Hall.
