In our last newsletter, we invited you to attend the Steinway Construction tour hosted at Hall Piano Company in Metairie. Thank you to those that were able to attend. We are delighted to announce that the Construction tour was presented to over 1000 participants in this special tour.
In addition to hosting in-store "tours," Hall Piano Company was invited to make this special presentation to many fine local institutions including Tulane University, South Eastern University, Nicholls State University, Ursuline Academy, Arden Cahill Academy, Faith Lutheran School, and Calvary Baptist School.
Congratulations are in order for the faculty, staff and student body at Nicholls State University. February 29th, 2008 marked a day of celebration as two Steinway Model "O" studio grand pianos hand selected by the talented piano faculty were installed in the primary piano teaching studios.

KENNESAW, Ga.-Kennesaw State University officially has become
an "All-Steinway School" after benefactor Dr. Bobbie Bailey announced her
additional donation of 26 Steinway pianos to the KSU College of the Arts. 
The
announcement was made during the grand opening concert for the Dr. Bobbie
Bailey and Family Performance Center this evening on the KSU campus. Bailey
recently made a $1.75 million gift to the college. With the additional Steinway
pianos, her gift now exceeds $2 million.
Hall Piano Company is pleased to announce the return of our Free Piano Classes for Kids. Classes are for beginning students between the ages of 6 and 17 and will be conducted at Hall Piano Company's showroom on David Drive in Metairie.

Hall Piano Company is proud to announce its' renewal of sponsorship of "The Piano Guy, with Scott Houston" on WLAE, Channel 32 in New Orleans. This continuing sponsorship of quality educational programming is another way that Hall Piano Company promotes music education in our community.
Henry Z. Steinway has been chosen to receive the prestigious National
Medal of Arts Award from the National Endowment of the Arts, which was
established by Congress in 1984 to recognize long standing service to our
nation by distinguished individuals in the field of culture and the arts.
Henry along with his wife Polly, will be receiving this Medal of Arts Award today in a presentation ceremony in the East Room of the White House hosted by President and Mrs. Bush.
In May, Hall Piano Company of Metairie, La, was proud to sponsor the Steinway Legendary Tour featuring three very special pianos. This limited time engagement included the Horowitz Model D, the Van Cliburn Model D, and the George Gershwin Commemorative “Rhapsody” Model B grand pianos.

Legendary Concert technician and author, Franz Mohr, visited New
Orleans as part of his book signing tour this year. His book entitled
“My life with the great pianists” chronicles his career spanning more
than a quarter-century as chief concert technician for the world’s
finest piano builder, Steinway & Son’s of New York.
“The Merrill Lynch 88 Key Society kick-off campaign to purchase a new Steinway D Grand Piano began Thursday, March 29th during the evening of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra’s Entergy Masterworks Concert. Three short weeks later, the Thursday, April 19th Masterworks Concert set the stage for the Merrill Lynch 88 Key Society’s “grand” announcement that funds needed to purchase the new piano had been raised in an unprecedented amount of time with support from the community and sponsors.
